The history of American Quiltmaking told through lots and lots of quilts. This talk is also full of interesting quilt facts and fictions, plus a bit of personal insight into my life as a quilter.

COLOUR SELECTION FOR YOUR QUILTS:  

How to pick the right fabrics for your quilts easily using some of my best  simple and foolproof "recipes". Lots of examples of quilts showing the theories at work.

SPICE UP YOUR BORDERS!:  

Many good quilts are let down by bad borders and bindings. In this talk I share some of my favourite border ideas and bring along lots of quilts to show as examples.

QUILTS FOR SPECIAL BABIES & KIDS:  

Each year I design  several quick and easy quilt patterns for my local quilt group, Thameside Quilters,  to make quilts for premature babies in the intensive care unit of our local hospital, and bigger "cuddle" sized quilts for chronically ill children in our area. This talk includes  the "Blue Peter" style demonstrations on how we made "Itsy-Bits & Wonky Strips" , "Cut, Paste, & Quilt" , "Flippin' Easy" , and many other quick quilts during our annual Quiltathons. Great for groups involved in making Project Linus Quilts, or anyone wanting ideas for making quick and easy scrap box quilts.

QUILTING QUIZ NIGHT:  

We provide everything and run a fun "all about quilting" team quiz night for your group, including prizes for the winning teams, losing teams, and more! The fee for all this is only £ 150 plus mileage.

My fees are £125 for a talk or for a group workshop, plus mileage at the AA posted rate per mile (currently 40p per mile).  The workshop price is for a 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. workshop for up to 15 people, with a  £ 5 surcharge per head over 15 (except for the quiz night event),
